MISHAWAKA - Donald M. Wroblewski, 80, died peacefully at home with his family on Monday, September 25, after a 14 year battle with prostate cancer.

He was born August 24, 1937 in South Bend, IN to Louise (Wiczorek) and Valentine Wroblewski.

On May 26, 1962 he married Shirley (Hushower) Wroblewski. She was the love of his life. Earlier this year they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley and three daughters, Michelle (Thomas) Rospopo of Aurora, CO, Marcia (Kyle) Wadsten of Eaton Rapids, MI, and Melanie Wroblewski of Mishawaka, IN; one sister, Margaret Moran of South Bend, IN; two grandsons, Geoff and Sheldon Wadsten.

Don graduated from Washington High School South Bend in 1955 and attended Purdue University. He spent many years working as a plumbing and heating estimator and designer. He was a long time member of the St. Joseph Valley Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC). Although retired, he enjoyed keeping his skills sharp with occasional design work.

He was a member of Coalbush United Methodist Church. Over the years he gave countless hours of dedication and service to the Methodist Church. He was instrumental in the start up of Granger Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

Don was a “terrific” family man and friend to many. His friendliness, eternal optimism and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. He enjoyed sharing breakfast with friends, telling jokes, bowling, reading, computer games, woodworking, building things (including his own home), watching the Green Bay Packers, and feasting on his favorite holiday--Thanksgiving. One of his greatest pleasures was enjoying the fun and laughter that went with having his girls all together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers-in-law and best friend, Dick Watts.
