SOUTH BEND, IN - James Charles Shrack, 68, passed away peacefully at home, with his loving family by his side, on November 11, 2018.

James was born August 19, 1950 in Covington, KY to the late Franklin Woodrow and Marilynn Francis (Gustin) Shrack.

On May 14, 1977, Jim married the love of his life, Jeanine Marie Kramer. They were blessed with 9 children: Shea McCloughan of California, Jason Shrack of Washington, Jeremiah Shrack of Indianapolis, Justin Shrack of South Bend, Erika Shrack of South Bend, Benjamin Shrack of South Bend, Elisa Shrack of Indianapolis, Samantha Shrack of South Bend, and Tyler Shrack of South Bend. Jim has two sisters, Margaret (Craig) Lewis of Lebanon, Indiana and Jacqueline Harris of West Palm Beach, Florida. Jim is also survived by his seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jim was a graduate of Washington High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's degree at Indiana University in Bloomington. He pursued a career in sales and traveled for a living later on in life. He was a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church and a member of the People of Praise for over 40 years. Jim was an avid golfer and reader. He was a big fan of Notre Dame football and IU basketball. Jim had a big heart and loved celebrating others. Spending time with his friends and family brought him so much joy. He will be remembered for his funny jokes and positive attitude.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, November 15 at the People of Praise Center, 53666 N. Ironwood Rd., South Bend, IN 46635 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., where a Wake Service will be observed at 7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 16 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 St. Rd. 933, South Bend, followed by a luncheon at the People of Praise center at 12:00 p.m.
